You do not need MH to grow coraline.
You do need clean water with very low phosphate.
Maintaining the alkalinity at higher (twice is more than enough) than NSW levels leads to very fast coraline growth. I asumme you're happy to do this given your current calcium level

You say you have *some* coralline already - this will eventually seed the tank if the conditions are right. Growing coralline gets white spots on it, and / or a white rim around the edge. Once yours looks like it is growing it will take a month or so before you notice coralline growing in other places. This starts as spots almost too small to see, which grow very quickly.
A calcium reactor is the sure-fire way to get coralline to explode. These are not cheap though.
