Can some 1 suggest the safest, best way for me to send a few fish to my friend in San Francisco......
How, where can i get heat packs?
Where can I find stirofoam?
DP - shipping across the country in this uncertain weather can be tricky.
ProPak makes the best boxes on the market and make sure you get at least a 30hr heat pack - we won't ship any livestock with anything less since it'll likely start losing heat around the 20hr mark - those packs have an intensity threshhold of about 15-20 hours with the upswing and downswing making up the rest of the hours.
Also, you would be best served with shipping the bag with oxygen - not everyone carries it, but it's best shipped over long distances with this.
Also, air (O2) in the bag is key as well (meaning volume this time) - more air than water with enough water for the animal to hold enough oxygen in it to make the mximum time the fish will be in traval - fine line between doing this right and wrong. Alot depends on the size of the fish, the care and heartiness of the fish (species) etc.
If you need - PM with details and we'll help with advice.
