if i grow macroalgea in a in sump refugium, will it spread into my main tank. i really dont want it in my main display tank.

Pefectly valid question. It may, but usually doesn't. Sexual reproduction rarely produces viable offspring in our tiny closed ecosystems. Greatest chance of it spreading to your main display tank is via fragmentation finding it's way from the refugium to the display.
