Try some trochus snails, they seem to do well, day and night. Some snails only work after light out.
BTW, they have no problem flipping over when they land on their back. A situation that usually results in the death of other snail species.

Your best bet is a combination of snails. My favorites are wild caught trochus, because they are fairly longlived and can right themselves (usually) if they fall over. Astrea and margarita snails are cheaper, but are not nearly as hardy. Any of the others, including ceriths have their niche as well.

Watch the margarite and astreas if you have hermits, they provide nourishment AND a dwelling for crabs.

the Nassarius are for your sand bed, they dont clean the algea, but do good on the deitrus. The Mexican snails do good at eating the algea, but they get big and tend to bulldoze through corals that are not sucured down, Do not know about the other
