Canopy/Hood

I'd like to upgrade my lighting with an Ice Cap 660 and 4 VHO's(58 gal). I've been searching retailers on-line(all sponsors of this board & several others)and cant find anyone who offers an attractive hood/canopy. My preference is a fixture made of wood to match the stand. The only products I have found so far are aluminum and resemble rain gutters. I considered a DIY project, but given my lack of skill in such areas I would probably be better off dropping a couple hundred dollars and saving myself the aggrivation of realizing I cant make a box out of a few pieces of lumber

I would suggest finding someone locally that is handy with wood. This way you can get it built the way you want it. This would probably still be cheaper that ordering one online.

This is what I built for my 58 gallon tank. I built the stand (has 30 gallon sump under it) and the canopy. I know it is not the best craftsmanship but it suits me fine. I am most proud of the canopy. I have 4 VHO's powered by a 660 also.
