Quickrete I think its called at Home Depot

I was calling local Home Depots to find Southdown Play Sand but all I could find was Quickrete Playsand.

Is this stuff safe for reefs?

My local home depot about 1 minute away as 178 50lb bags in stock of this stuff at 2.48 per bag.

Any info would be apreciated as I would like to get some sand for my new reef I am setting up soon.

It's silica sand. Do a search for silica as there have been several lengthy threads on this topic recently.

I looked at that stuff and decided "not in my tank".

Isn't that stuff kind of brown? I went with a straight-up silica sand from a construction store that turned out pretty damn white.

I have about 300 pds of it in our tank, it is kind of brown but after awhile isn't it all?
