I am looking at getting a skimmer for my 90 gallon. I was just wondering what you people have been happy with on a 90 gallon aquarium. I will only have enough money to buy one between the 100 to 200 dollar range so nothing to fancy. It is just difficult to find a large assortment of skimmers at LFS around here. I just dont want to buy a skimmer that i am unhappy with. Thanx for any and all advice.

Kipreefer, on my 90 I have two hang ons to provide a little more current. I had them from smaller tanks, but if I did get another skimmer in that range I would probably go for a ReefDevil. However a good quality skimmer for a 90 will probably cost more than $200. My refugium is starting to mature so I might try going skimmerless.

Good Luck

I would get a Turboflotor in that price range. With regular proper maintanence (cleaning the air intake by letting it suck in hot water), they skim very well. Certainly much better then the Remora Pro I had. It's also cheaper. Good luck

Well i will be able to spend more then price range. I deffinantly dont want to skip on the skimmer i guess i put that down becasue i am a college student that makes 7.30 an hour and needs a new car. I just put that price range down so i am not told about 500-600 dollar skimmers that i would never be able to afford. I just want a quality skimmer that will perform well. Sorry if i gave you guys a misconception.

I'm very happy with my AquaC EV-150 on my 75g. It skims like crazy and doesn't require a huge pump (I've got a mag 7 on mine). An EV-90 would have probably been adequate for me, but I'm glad I bought the bigger one as it provides more options for larger tanks down the road. I got mine for $220 or so (used), plus $50 or so for the mag 7 from premium aquatics.

I use an Aqua-C EV-150 on my 90 and it's wonderful. I paid $225 for it brand new plus another $50 for the mag 7 to drive it. Contact [email protected] and he'll hook you up. He's very reliable.

I am looking for a good skimmer as well. I have a 360 gallon tank that currently houses only two eels and two Yellow rays but I am in the process of adding two Epaulette sharks. All of those are rather messy eaters. I now have an extra large Berlin skimmer with a Rio 2500 pump, but it is not pulling much at all. I realize the pump is inadequate, but I don't think the Berlin will handle it even with a bigger pump.

I have been looking at the Euro Reef CS8-3 and teh MR-3 from myreefcreations.com. Anu suggestions on which is better?
