I ordered the MyReef dual stage calcium reactor for my 75g tank.

Andy has great customer service. He replies to e-mails almost instantly and definately within 24hours.

The reactor is a high quality unit. I've had the reactor up and running since July 18th. At first the needle valve for the water input was very hard to adjust to the right level because it kept lowering the flow rate after a few hours, but now it has stabilized and I hardly have to adjust it at all. Eventually I imagine it will not need any adjustments at all.

With a bubble count of 72 bpm, 64ml/min I am able to sustain my fully stocked 75g reef with perfectly balanced levels of 4meq/l alkalinity and 440ppm calcium. my tank usually consumes 1meq/l/day with is a lot, but this reactor manages to cope just fine unlike my previous Tunze reactor.

Here is a web site with several photos:

Sill,

Nope. No Kalk, nor any other calcium carbonate additives. The reactor supplies everything I need.

Have patience. Keep tweaking. It may help to find out how much of a drop in alk you experience per day (how much alk is consumed per day). Then tweak the reactor to match that.

Here's a hint, you can (and probably should) keep your levels up during the break in time. If your levels fall too low for too long a period your SPS and other calcium carbonate corals will suffer.

My pH varies considerably. From 7.7-7.8 in the morning before the lights come on to 8.2-8.3 in the evening. I believe that the pH difference is amplified because I have almost 1000W MH over my 75g. If I switch bulbs from Ushio to Iwasaki (I have both bulbs but only use the Ushios) then the ending pH is much higher (8.4-8.45) which is too high and this brings my alk down. People with not as intense lights should have a more even and lower pH. Adding a dual air stone has helped minimise the pH difference effect.

Adjust the water flow needle valve *slowly* and only in one direction for best results.

I tracked my reactor almost daily using high quality test kit (Salifert).

Good luck! My reactor took almost 1.5 months to stabilise, so patience is the key.
