120 gallon single overflow Durso FOWLR. I currently have a MAG 9.5 which seems fine for a single overflow but I read that some members think a MAG 12 should be better. I split the return 4 times with locline and am looking into members reccommendations to upgrade the return to a MAG 12. My question with a 1.5 drain and a 1" return would a MAG12 work? Right now my MAG 9.5 is fully opened I have a ball valve in case its needed I am just curious. Thanks

pics but I didn't update it for the 4 split the photo shows it split 2 way but as of now it is split 4 ways. http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/general-discussion/23354-120-gal-finally-up-running-3.html

return

well i use 2 mag's on my system, i am currently using a 9.5 for return. and a mag 7 for my skimmer. the size all depends on a few factor's one how much piping and head do you have on return, and how much water flow you want for return and how many gph do you have for drain. reef central has a calculator to figure it out

Noname the mag9.5 will do its job and complete the water loop from your sump to main tank. If you want more in tank flow add a powerhead. Tunze streams are awesome for this!

Also. the mag 9.5 split 4 ways will look like almost no flow in tank. You're better off using 1 or 2 outlets so the water is forced out(more flow)

So I should change this back to my original way of having 2. Or should I put a MAG 12? I just want to make sure a MAG 12 will be ok with my drain, sump.
