I'm using maxijet A friend who is helping me with my reef tank has several tanks and thats all he uses. I've seen his tanks the power heads are encrusted with coraline and they still pump out the water fine.
I've been looking for a maxijet and I just found a 1200 its g/h is 296, my Rio 2100 is 692g/h Do you know where can I buy a maxijet bigger than this maxijet 1200. Thank you for your replies guys.
I've heard the horror stories about Rio 2100 and I'm looking for the best choice to replace my 4 pumps! I need good eficiency and price (submersible or not) I will be very grateful if you can let me know about a good supplier... I can not sleep since I read about Rio accidents and if I sleep I have nightmares about it (just kidding...but i'm worried).
THe comparable dolphin or sedra pumps would be a good replacement. I have a bunch of sedras running and have had zero problems with them.. UL listed, 2 yr warranty.
Yes, the 1200 is the largest Maxi-Jet. I agree this is probably the most bullet-proof pump on the market. We have a couple at the store that aren't even the same general shape anymore, they are so encrusted in coralline and other life. Yet they still work!
I think Mag pumps are great......with the exception of the Mag 7. I have read many posts from people who have had trouble with the 7. A few weeks ago I started having trouble with my one year old Mag 7 not restarting after daily feedings (the fish, not the pump
). I have a Sen 700 on order now. They are rather large but I've read good things about them on the boards.
