Baby Trochus snails (pic included)?

I think I have a batch of baby trochus snails in my tank. They are definitely baby snails, I just can't tell which type.
Trochus would be the most likely given the # of snails in my tank.
Has anyone had Trochus snails breed in their tank?
I know some folks have had success w/ Cerith snails, but these aren't Cerith. I have none.

I've got trochus snails in my tank, and also have lots of baby snails. I never had baby snails until I added the trochus snails 3-4 months ago. Some of my trochus snails are over 1" across now--these buggers grow FAST!

I did see a funny looking zig zag pattern on the glass last month that I thought were snail eggs. I never guessed I'd see offspring.

I've had Trochus snails for about 6 months and not seen any babies...
Could they be Strombus snails?
They breed pretty quickly and lay tons of eggs (ok, maybe not tons...)

Do they look like tiny little Conch shells or like little cones?

Strombus look like tiny little Conchs ('cause they are...)

More thank likely you are seeing a species of Turbo that breeds quite readily in aquariums and doesn't get much bigger than 1/4" in diameter. I mean a real Turbo sp. not the marketing term. Should be a white shell with brown stripes.

I think you're right. Here's a pic I took last night. Sorry about the focus, these things are small. They are hangin' out on my red lettuce clip.

Actually, the zig-zag egg pattern usually is from cerith snails. But you don't have any. I've never seen any zig-zag egg patterns on my glass, but then again, they may get cleaned off by the Kole tang. I don't know what the trochus eggs look like but all I know is that they seem to be multiplying...

Also, in my case, my little baby snails could be strombus snails, as I also added some of them a few months ago. But I also think I've seen several different shapes of baby snails. I'm just going to have to be patient to see what they look like when they grow up!

Looks like the pic got posted while I was typing. Those look like trochus to me, with the conical shells. Congrats, dad!

Don't mean to rain on your parade, but the pic is rather blurry, and it's hard to tell if they are anything more than a snail I once had in my own tank. Take a look here, and scroll down to the 2nd to last question in bold from the bottom. Those snails never got any larger than pea.

I saw the description of the polyp predators on that page and thought that was the pic you wert referring to.

Had to check 3 times before I got it figured out. Phew!
