Anyone familiar with WAMAS (Washington Area Marine Aquarium Society) or CMAS (Chesapeake Marine Aquarium Society)? Are either of these groups worthwhile? Or are there others? Not a whole lot of info on either of their websites, just wondering if either were worth looking into.

THANKS

I have herad rather good things about WAMAS so I decided to join. Went to their site and submitted my application. That was quite a while ago, over a month now, and have not received a response yet. Hopefully, it is just because of summer, but...

I know one of their officers is on this site, he will probably reply. Good luck.

I live in the area and even bought some hardware from one of the founders. They've only had a few meeting over the last several months but I believe they were worthwile. (I havn't joined or attended a meeting because I work most saturdays when they've had their meetings). Dr Mac has been to a few meetings with great stuff to show-n-sell. Go to the website and ask questions about upcoming activities and why an application takes so long.
