Deb--what were you using for a skimmer before and why did you change? I'm using a TF1000 right now and I'm considering switching to an ETSS Evolution 750 based on Jimmy's recommendation. I was just wondering what you were using before (was it venturi or some other kind) and how you compare this new one to the old one. Were you addressing specific issues with your tank in upgrading or did you just think your skimmer wasn't pulling out enough gunk? I'm considering an upgrade based on both of these considerations...

Hi James,

I cranked it way down and it's really looking nice dry foam now, better by the minute.

I had previously been using a Berlin Classic venturi skimmer. Upgraded that to a Turbo - total POS. Basically the Berlin was just too small for a tank that size (155g).

I wanted to get a skimmer capable of doing a tank 2-3 times the size of mine, as I do feed a lot and am more concerned about underskimming than overskimming.

The Euro-reef has a excellent reputation, and for the price, and the compactness of the unit, ease of use, it was my up front choice.
I had not excluded the ETS line, but read far more rave reviews about the Euro-reef, and a few more problems with regards to the ETS.

I thought the same thing until I ordered my Euroreef skimmer. Its been 3 weeks and its still not built. They said they are out of building materials for the 6" models. I can fit an 8" model

No doubt, after using a beckett skimmer, the euroreef is much more trouble free. Skims about the same tho, maybe a tad better. Worth saving up for IMHO.

I read and read for a whole year before I decided on this skimmer. I've been using a Reef Devil 2 for over two years now and might as well be skimmerless with that. It figures that I would order a skimmer and this would happen

I'm the same guy that gets in the beer line and the keg goes dry.
