Slime Remover over Long Term

Just did a search on the "benefits" of using Erythromycin to combat Cyno. I would like to hear from those who have used it long ago, say 1-2 years and have never had it return or if cyno had come back was it as simple to treat using a single dose of Erythromycin.

Did you have any losses using Erythromycin ?

Anyone please, or is Erythromycin not good for the long term. Also has anyone had luck with Kent Poly Ox to reduce red slime ?

Ive used it twice,twice the cyno went away for a month or so and then it came back. Never lost anything,but never gained anything either.

I've used it three times in two three different tanks (one FW).

In all cases I've done a single dose of 1 gram (active) per 50 gallons.

On all ocassions the slime went away never to come back, and yes it's been years (many in the case of two of the tanks).

I've read that it can come back if your tank conditions continue to favour its growth. Can't speak from experience here because mine has never come back...
