I have a pacific Coast Chiller model C0250. I cannot find the instructions for it on line and I need to know:
If I want the Aqua JR Controller to control the chiller, and heater.
Do I have to desactivate the Control on the chiller?
I tried to run the chiller with a Medusa on the past and since the chiller has a thermostat of its own it ended up burning the medusa.
Is there a way to go about it?

Thank you.

Alfredo

I've read the only way to do this is to disable the control on the chiller.
You need someone who knows how to read a schematic to do this. If you open the chiller cover there should be a schematic design inside that will show you how the controller is wired.

keep the chiller controller on as a back up. set it 1 degree below the temperature of the aquacontroller.

Some built in electric controllers does not default back to the last temp you have set it at once the power is cycled off and on. I think his best bet is to use the chiller's built in controller to maintain tank temp and use aqua controller as a secondary fail safe cut off, unless he is willing to do some wiring mod to deactivate the built in controller.

I know pacific coast is low end, but it doesn't even have a default setting? Well, I guess I would then go with Pierce here and say to just use the thermostat that comes with the unit. Use the temperature controller on the aquacontroller to turn on fans when the temp is 1 degree above what the temp would be when the chiller kicks on. It might buy you a little time and save you a few dollars in electric.

Funny,
I use my Pacific Coast CL-650 1/4 hp chiller fine with a Ranco, Reefkeeper and now an ACIII. All I did was set my chiller parameters to chill @ 77, and off at 75 for a controller real temp of chill at 81 and off at 79 degrees.

So the Pacific Coast built in controller holds the setting in memory after the power source is removed?
