My view of emerald crabs is fairly dim. It is not from having owned one, but from having seen how predatory they can be in the stores. I went to a store the other day, and saw their emeralds eating a fish, each other, hermit crabs, a cucumber (hope it doesn't foul their tank!), a serpent star, and snails. This was all taking place in a single tank. I don't know if they were just really hungry, but if they are that predatory, then why take the risk with them. As far as the linckia, I have a red and beige linckia that I caught in Hawaii that I will periodically give small pieces of food to. I see it cover the food and grab it, and can only assume that it eats it, because sitting there long enough for him to overtake the food is a long long long process.

I plan on getting my first starfish soon. There is blue one I've seen in a LFS that I like. I've done some reasearch and I assume that this is the blue linkia starfish, a good choice supposedly. My question is, do I have to feed it directly or are their any supplements I need for this starfish? Or is everything I already add enough, like fish food, and all the supplements and food for the corals? Also, if anyone knows about how much these types of starfish cost I would appreciate it. Thanks very much.

As for other critters, I have hermit crabs, a sally crab, 2 emerald crabs, 1 horseshoe crab, and of course fish. Hopefully the starfish is compatible. Thanks.
