I have a berlin set up 80g tank, Turboflotor skimmer (hang on)10 weeks old. The PS will not stop producing huge amounts of bubbles in the tank. It does settle down a little but there are always too many bubbles in the return flow. I have tried lots of things to reduce the bubbles, including pinching the air tube with a clip, adjusting the flow, cleaning out the pump but no change noticed.
Question: Could it be that the additive 'Reef Vital DNA' produced by Marc Weiss Co. is causing this problem? If not, then please, please suggest some ideas for me to try.
Thanks, CJ

Many additives create a bubble problem.

Do you have that bubble baffle?

If the problem persists you will have to slow the flow rate somehow.

This new bubble phenomenon may just be another miracle created by MW products.

The Turbofloater HO that I have seen has 2 small boxes that the waters returns through to remove excess bubbles.

If you do a search on this site you will see that MW products do not get good grades. The only thing I believe that they are good for is keeping ich dormant. However, with good/stable water quality ich should not be a problem. Otherwise most here seem to feel that Reefvital DNA just adds unnecessary nutrients.

If the turbofloater has a waterflow adjuster I would slow the water rate or add a valve to slow it.

What other additives are you using? Dechlorinators & slime coat stimulators are also likely culprits. My advice is to stop using unnecessary additives for awhile and see if it addresses the problem. Also, once you resume using the product, use only as directed and avoid adding extra.
