Looking for good deals on quality LR for my new 180 AGA RR. I am using the pvc frame methods to make it stable and to make a vertical "tower". I noticed that Flying Fish Express has a deal on 12" to 24" pieces (85 lbs/box.) Anyone with experience ordering liverock from them?

Anyone know of good deals on liverock?

Take a look in your local paper and see if any LFS are going out of business or moving. Around here, we get one doing that about every month or so. When they do, they basically have a fire sale. I once took a friend of mine to a store that lost their lease, and was not planning on doing any more retail, and he spent around $500 or so, and got a couple hundred pounds of live rock (we filled 2 32 gallon trash cans, and 2 16 gallon trash cans), some fish, various corals, and then when we were the last ones there, they told me to buy a bucket from them for $10 and fill it with whatever was left that I wanted. We came away with a ton of stuff, and his 240 or 280, don't know which it is, is completely filled with live rock (with some of mine as well, I broke down my reef once and gave him the rock from it).

The weekly mailing from Flying Fish Express says they have Fiji Live Rock for $99 per box plus shipping -- now I couldn't find it on the website, so I'm not 100% sure that is true, but it's worth a shot. I'm happy with the LR I've gotten from FFX.
