Please help with rocks

I've been striving for that purple look on my live rock in my 90 gal reef. It's been running since April. There is a lot of purple on the rocks, however, there is also a greenish tint along with it. My calcium is at 450, alkalinity at 4, phosphates are at 0.1. In other words, all parameters are ok. How can I get rid of that greenish tint?

Could just be your lighting. When you look at a lot of reef pictures, the coloration of their coralline can be very different depending on what brand of bulb they have, what the Kelvin rating is, and how old the bulb actually is.

I have the purple algae growing on some of the rocks along with the green. However, none of that purple grows on the powerheads, overflow, or glass like I've seen on display tanks in the LFS or even on this board. That green stuff looks pretty nasty, especially in pictures. I tried to post a picture on this message, but I could not figure out how to do it. Can someone tell me how? It'll save a lot less explaining! I appreciate it. Also, how do I get the purple stuff to grow on other things other than the rocks? Thanks.

yeah i have both the purple and green coraline growing in my tank. the purple ones grows all over my rocks and power heads. the green ones seems to prefer the arcylic.

I point a powerhead directly at the coraline encrusted rock. Give it a month or two, but that should do the trick for you.
