Dead Urchin

Ok, so I get home from college today and I find a decomposing urchin in my tank. My frogspawn and hammer corals are all shriveled up but my fish and leathers appear to be doing fine. All hermits and snails accounted for as well. Checked Ni and Na...acceptable levels. Checked Ammonia and just got a hint of a color change using the seachem test kit. Gonna do a water change tommorow but can I expect any loses from this? Will my hammer and frogspawn bounce back? They are pretty shriveled. Any help on this would be great.

Ummm Ni and Na? Nickle and Sodium - hmmmm.

I think hammers are very resiliant - it will almost certainly recover.

The ammonia spike would not be unexpected given a big thing died and your tank had much more waste material to deal with than normal.

Sorry, I meant Ni and Na as nitrate and nitrite. Woke up this morning and things seem to be doing better. Took out the remains of the urchin last night so I'm sure that helped. I just don't know why this guy died. He was doing so well and everything else in the tank was really healthy.
