Fellow Aquarists,

http://www.advancedaquarist.com

We are pleased to announce a new magazine dedicated to furthering the aquarium hobby. This publication will be a joint venture between Reefs.org and Terry Siegel - founder of Aquarium Frontiers. In keeping with the strict standards of accuracy and fact-checking Terry Siegel brought to Aquarium Frontiers, Craig Bingman has again been enlisted as the magazine's Science Editor. Many of the leading contributors to Aquarium Frontiers whose work has been sadly missed since that periodical ceased publication will be authoring material for Advanced Aquarist's Magazine Online. You can also expect to see material from many other new leading authors and hobbyists.

The magazine will be published on the web under the auspices of Reefs.org and supported through advertising sponsors. The magazine will be open to everyone, to the betterment of the hobby as a whole. Advertisers interested in having their materials run in Advanced Aquarist's Magazine Online should contact Terry Siegel at [email protected]

Cheers,
James Wiseman

That's great news James. Reef Central is also going to be launching an on-line magazine next month. I was going to wait till it was published before making the announcement. I guess great minds think alike

Aw, shucks. We're just pleased to be able to do it. The hardest part has been keeping it to ourselves as it's slowly come together

In my mind, the absolute best part has got to be the editorial team of Terry & Craig. Everyone complains about how inaccurate many of the articles in print are. Well, that's exactly what these two are here to ensure doesn't happen with AAOM. The same kind of standards and fact-checking Aquarium Frontiers had, AAOM has. Really, we're incredibly lucky to have them. The last thing we wanted to do was do a magazine without those kinds of high standards for accuracy. I don't think it can be emphasized enough what a difference having a rock-solid editorial team the likes of Terry Siegel and Craig Bingman makes.

But rest assured, as good as Aquarium Frontiers Online was, we plan to top it. And really, I don't think anything else out there could touch Aquarium Frontiers in terms of quality, professionalism and accuracy.

Yea, keep it clean!~)
So that is what you couldn't tell me about Charles!. Thank you guys! I look forward to reading these pages. I read more than I type. IMO, nothing has touched AFM since its decline. I hope AAOM provides the same or better standards to the aquarist community. Thank you for your hard work, this will be the best christmas ever!~)

Do we get it in time for Christmas?</strong><hr></blockquote>

I just read on fishnet that it would be out around the middle of January. Terry isn't as good at keeping secrets I guess because he's also been mentioning this project for months over there

Sheesh, I leave for two days and look what I come back to...lol.

I think what everyone can look forward to seeing from Advanced Aquarist's Online Magazine will be pretty much a "return to glory" for the now defunct Aquarium Frontiers magazine. This is something that I personally have been waiting YEARS for.

Sanjay: I can tell you right now, there won't be any competition. That is not what this magazine is about. It's time for a return to QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY

Cheers

Aw, come on James. Sure there will be competition.

And it's a good thing. RC and Reefs have been going back and forth trying to best each other for three years now. And, it's brought nothing but good things to the hobby.

Looking forward to it all.
