Aiptasia solution?

I have a very unusual refugium dweller, an undulated trigger. He was "saved" from a bad place, and now I'm trying to grow him out so I can put him in my pond with my bat ray. Question is, there is some aiptasia in my refugium (seeded it with fine grape caulerpa that someone traded me, knew the aiptasia was in there, but not a big deal for a refugium, I figured), will the undulated eat it? I haven't noticed him doing anything to it yet, but I also haven't noticed it really getting a foothold, just kind of maintaining the status quo.

Couldn't say dave, but i know a copperband butterfly will. GARF use them all the time, and they even suggest they are reef safe. Depends on the number of LPS corals you have though, i personally think LPS corals are the bomb and i wouldn't risk it. Anothr thing to do would be to fill a Hyperdermic Syringe (dont know about the USA but there a pig to get hold of over here, damn smakies) and fill it with a strong solution of Kalkwasser to deliver a lethal dose to the core of the tentacled horrors. Best of luck mate, id get em quick before they break the population envelope if you know what i mean.

Ive tried the kalk injection thing myself but have never had much luck with it. They just seem to return after a few days. My suggestion to you is to remove the rock or what ever the aptasis is attatched to and burn it with a lighter. It quickly sizzles the aptasia away like bacon never to be seen again. Have used this method with much better results than kalk injection. just my 2 cents.

My refugium doesn't house any corals, it's only hooked up to my bat ray pond. No corals anywhere in the system in fact, although eventually, I will plumb the whole system together with my reef upstairs. Just wondering if the trigger would eat them or not.

I cant imagine an undulate eating an anemone or even getting near it. I have a peppermint shrimp that was very effective. ive had it for 2 or so months but it took care of the aptasia in the first 36 hrs. The undulate would eat the shrimp within that same amount of time.
