When a feather duster worm loses it's feathers is it dead or is this part of their growth pattern?
Thanks

If it was normal up to the point the feathers disappeared, It probably has just lost it's crown. This can be a normal occurrance or it can be brought on by stress or poor water. You should be able to feel the worm in the tube if still alive. Generally does not take long to replace crown if water is good.

mine lost it crown then died.

another one lost it and waited 2 weeks and it had a tiny crappy one...then it died.

i think it was because my tank was new and i was a real "wet behind the ear" newbie that did them in
