I bought a really cool freshwater eel today

I have always hesitated on getting a freshwater eel, seeing as there are few true FW eels to begin with.

Today I gave way to temptation and got a Tire Track or White spot eel Mastacembelus armatus. Max size 30 inches. Of course he goes in the 90 gallon after a short stay in quarantine. Right now he is only 4 inches long and officially has the name Gollum, from the Lord of the Rings.....My Precioussssssss............

Always liked tiretrack eels, especially because they aren't overly aggressive. When I was keeping FW as a kid, they were also very "exotic" when I was buying my fish at K-Mart or similar stores. Anything that cost $4.00 back then was a really expensive fish. The good old days.
