Eheim 1250 too weak for Urchin Pro?

My AquaC Urchin Pro is powered by Eheim 1250 and already running more than a month. It produced little foam and watery, light brown skimmate. Is it because of the too little bio-load? I have only 5 1" damsels and 50lb LR. I heard someone has powered Remora Pro with 700gph or 900gph pump and gave good results. Should I switch to a bigger pump and what else I can do to improve the performance?

This is my first skimmer after I read a lot of celebrated messages from this forum, but actually I am not too impressed with that.

I use a Mag 350 on my Remora Pro and it works better than with the Rio. The Mag is quiet, reliable, and definitely more powerful. The Eheim 1250 is only about 320 gph and not pressure rated, I believe.
