My bulbs have been replaced, I'm showing negligable phosphates, everything else seems to be in order, but the darn algae is growing on my sand bed and creeping about. I've added 20 crabs and 16 new snails to the mix as well. Feeding of fish is minimal and every other day.
Not sure how to rid myself of it's presence. Any suggestions? Anyone had this problem?
Its a 55g plexi tank w/ live rock ~60 lbs, protein skimmer backpack, 10G water changes about every 3 to 4 weeks. Alkalinity and Calcium additions, good corraline growth on the rocks and glass.
Only other issue, but I assume it is common to all out there - I've got to scrape my glass every 4 days or I get algae growth that the snails make patterns within, but don't completely clean up.
TIA,
