Hi all,
I added a Kole tang to my 90 on Friday and of all fish (I guess I should have suspected it) my female ocellaris clown won't leave it alone. She continues to chase the tang about, even leaving the host Colt Coral to search amoung the rock on the other side of the tank for the Kole. The Kole runs at the mere sight of this clown and they both have some battle scars. The Ocellaris is one of a mated pair and they currently do not have a clutch of eggs (they hatched on Thurday). The Clown has a nice slash beneath one of her pectrals fins and the Kole has some bite marks.
Any suggestions? Will the Clown eventually grow accustomed to the Tang's presence and leave be? I never noticed her to be so aggressive towards new additions like this.
Thanks

I believe the Kole will be just fine. They are shy until they know their place. Is it eating okay ? You could try some OSI stick-on spirulina tabs, the clowns will tire and the Kole will love them.

I wold say leave them alone, they will work it out in time. I have a kole tang and true perc that get along, of course I added the kole first and then he is bigger than the perc.

You want a silly idea that has worked for me on a few occassions? Find a large photo of a grouper, and tape it right next to the clown's anemone. A mirror might divert it's attention away from the Tang as well.

There's a small chance they'll never grow accustomed to one another. It's mainly the clown's fault, as they've been known to hold life-long aggression against another fish. Hopefully, this isn't the case.
