Ok, I have a blackish brown colored algea growing on my DSB. The sand is southdown, and is about 4 to 5 in. deep. It seems to be growing in the spots with less current. Like around the edges of the LR. It also has bubbles on it, it kind of looks like a balloon with a string. I recently bought some of the sand sifting snails, can't think of there bio name. But they seem to be staying away from the stuff. I have been reading some about the fighting conch snails. Will they rid me of this algea? Any ideas would help.

I am going to leave the lights off for 24 hours with a blanket on it. How much should I worry about my tang and two clowns, and corals. Everything todays seemed fine. Will carbon filtration help with this also? Think I am going to bust out the ole filter. Any other ideas on how to rid this stuff?
