I'm looking for shipping bags for fish and corals. Mainly the little metal "rings" to seal them with. I already know about Aquatic Eco-systems. I got their "sealing tool" and the rubber bands that were suposed to seal the bags but all they did was "pop off" Anyone know where I can find the metal ones?

thanks L.

Go to your fish store and ask them for bags. As far as the metal rings, it's just metal wire and a crimping tool. You can get a setup like that by just buying some hard metal wire and finding a crimping tool or a wrench that will work on it. It'd be a lot easier, though, to just tie the bags, that's what I always do.

I use the Aquatic Ecosystems bags. I ordered a very long bag, and I just tie the end shut. Works extremely well, and it is very fast. I do a lot of shipping, FWIW.

Thanks for the comments. I've got thousands of bags in all shapes and sizes. Just looking for a more efficient/quicker way to keep them sealed. Oxygen always seems to get out when I tie my knots in the bags......

E-tropicals sent me an order today and they had used a "thermal" sealer on the bags. No knots, rubber bands, or clips!

I double bag everything. If I'm using O2 (and I rarely do) I add the O2 then tie the bag shut. The bag is quite loose at this point. Then I put an identically sized bag around it, and force it very tight, so that the inner bag is squeezed. This way, if the air pressure drops a lot and the outer bag bursts, the inner bag will still hold the water because it has extra space. I've shipped a lot of frags this way with very little loss or damage. FWIW, that how I ship all my stuff TO eTropicals.
