bought about 30 shells in a pack from wal-mart. it was called "Chula Mix" are they safe to put in my tank? just drop in? should i bake them?

I wouldn't bake them unless they are stuffed with ricotta.

Just a question, why would you bake them? I would think that would only cause anything harmful on them to melt deeper into the shell instead of possibly burning them off. I would possibly soak them in bleach and then soak them in dechlor and maybe boil them, but I don't understand the baking part.

i've had them soaking for 24 hours, and i'm ready to put them in since i've been told (by other people too) that they are safe. Another question: these are for my blue-legs, as hopefully my scarlets won't eat my snails. Once the blue-legs start using them, will they also kill the naasuris snails, cause they are the same shell? i don't think they (the 10 bluelegs), will hurt the cerith, cause their shells are small. this is in my 150:
100 cerith
100 naasuris
50 cscarlets
and about 20 turbos & blue-legs carried over from fowlr & 2 other tanks!
