So what should I do? My tang is nibbling at my Featherduster like she does the live rock. I couldn't figure out if the worm was moving itself or if my Blenny was doing it. My tang is the culprit, caught her three times yesterday. The dusters tube is blue and softlooking in spots now and he hasn't "comeout" all day. Matter of fact, his tube looks pinched. Should I cover the tube in some sand? Maybe the tang won't bother it then? Any other suggestions?

Here is the aftermath of my Canary Wrasse pulling at my feathers He only pulled on the purple ones (my favorite of course) he did not bother the brown and white ones. and he did not eat them just kept pulling the worm from the tube somehow.
He was the only fish to ever bother the dusters
Anyway I came home one day to see this.

I have buried the feathers under the sand and they will grow in either direction until they find a base rock or something to attach to and will be a happy camper.

actually I thought they should be buried in the sand

You could try moving it to another location... Myabe the tang thinks it is invading its territory or something.

My sailfin tang does the same thing to the bottom of the featherduster tubes.

So I put them in a "sheath" of PVC pipe. Seems to help.

Well, once you have thousands of the smaller white feather duster worms on your LR and overflow, you will want to have a tang like that likes to nibble on them.

Bury it in another location or hide it deep within LR should help your feather duster.
