It was my understanding that the PFO setup does have rubber connections. In any case, the CSL setup I got from PA was marginally more expensive than PFO. I would of gotten the PFO if they were in stock, but I am happy with the CSL.

I am considering buying a dual 96 watt retro compact light setup and am considering the PFO vs. Custom Sea Life. I have had good success w/ CSL, but am now considering PFO for the cheaper price. One difference I noticed, however, is that PFO does not supply rubber around their endcaps like CSL.

Hence, my questions:
has anyone had rust or corrosion problems with the terminals exposed in PFO setups?

how does PFO vs. CSL compare?

Thanks, for replying ASAP. I plan to order Wed, 9/20.

Thank you all for your input.

I decided to go w/ PFO from Marine Depot - 70 cents for shipping and no state tax (and I'm in CA) - cant beat that!

NoFear29: thanks for your thread on the bulbs breaking. how did you fix your problem? did you modify the clips like the diagram from Dgosho?

Why can't I link to that thread that I posted a couple of messages up now?

Worked a couple of weeks ago?

Update:

Just received the PFO dual 96 with the daylight upgraded to 10000K. The lights look great. am very pleased. No bulb breaking too, after taking a plier to the brackets to pull them apart and wrapping thin wire around each bracket end to hold the bulbs secure.
I highly recommend Marine Depot too. Honest service at great prices.
