Today I just bought a barnicle blenny. This is a cool little guy. He is tiny. He lives inside a little barnicle and zips out to eat little bits of food. Very fast and cool to watch. So far he hasn't been impressed with the barnicle but he digs my soft coral

If you have anything to add about these guys or any advice, let me know...

Hi - I saw my first barnacle blenny last week in a lfs that I had not been in before. There were about 10 of them living in a large colony of banacles - It was so funny- like a condo for blennies! They all seemed to get along just fine! If I wasn't so maxed-out on my bio-load I would have bought one or two. They were really funny to watch. I assume that he will, in time, find and take to the barnacle you have for him. Good luck!

This guy has the best personality. He sit watching and swinging his head back and forth. They are kinda pricey but if they will share a barnicle I might look for him/her a freind...(only have three fish now)

I have heard from another post they are kinda new...

Take care

I got one of these guys from Coral Reef Aquariums MA. He kicks a$$. I keep him in my 50 gallon lagoon with my broodstock a. ocellaris. He just chills out and watches for food floating by.

Here is a picture of a blenny that my buddy took.

The Barnacle blenny, comes from the sea of Cortez. Nice little guy's, but they need a water tempeature lower than 78 degrees, otherwise they don't do well, long term.

They have similar things in the FL Keys.

Last time I was diving there I sat and played with some for a half hour.

I dive so much that now I just find something entertaining and don't move.

I was just in the Sea of Cortez (we saw seahorses!) and saw a bunch of these guys. Water temp 85-87 degrees, which is not odd for a good chunk of the year. On the other hand, I was there in the winter and water temp was in the mid 60's.
I don't know, maybe they need the yearly fluctuation for long term success.

HEY SCAV,

I had the same thing happen just before I got this little guy with a yellow goby. He didn't make it 2 hours before he took the big carpet nap. I hope this guy is smarter.

Thanks for the input guys.
