Santa is bring me a digital camera for Christmas.

I have the OK for a Nikon 995 but I am afraid that my wife will get gunshy with that model. Are there others out there with good macro capability along with true exposure controls? Please tell me your camera and if you can attach a sample of your/it's work.

Thanks

hi,

i've got the nikon coolpix 775 expressly for taking macros of my tank etc. i am VERY pleased with it -- i think you can get in as close as 4cm. which is real close --in fact you would have to be in the tank and its not waterproof

In Scotland, where I am, the 775 is just about half the price of the 995 which kept "she who must be obeyed" (my wife!!!) very happy
i havent figured out to attach pictures yet and i aint got the time to learn at the moment but i will try soon!! --so much to do so little time!!!

I have the Coolpix 995 too, Got it about a year ago at a price you don't really want to know. Loved it though. I take and print my own passport photo, Office ID photos, fish photo, all kinds of photo. I also got a Photosmart printer 1215 which is a great companion to go with these 3+ megapixel cameras.

My wife hated it though, she was never a techno-savvy person. She hates anything that has more than 3 settings to deal with.

You guys are rich.

I have a Fuji FinePix 1400 and I am stoked, but I am a low-budget guy and this is only a $300 digital camera.

I like it a lot though and really did my homework first.
