got a 12 gallon tenecor acrylic. has four 9 wats pc's...blue and white (2 each)....asked on the saltwater forum and all they came up with was "mantis shrimp", "sea apple" (think that would be boring), and "undulatus trigger (not nice to put him in a 12g. I was hoping the more diverse reefer group might come up with something more appealing...please dont say sea horses as i find the feeding routine tiresome...

hey brad. I have a 12g with 36w of pc lighting also. I use it for my low-light polyp tank. I keep all kinds of mushrooms, yellow polyps, buttons, and green star polyps in there. They don't need much light or too much current and they all do well. I have one lawnmower blenny in the tank which is a fish with great personality. There are many inverts that you could keep as well. I think if I were doing it again I might go with a bi-color blenny instead, or maybe a goby/shrimp combo even depending on what substrate I was going to use. Just a few ideas.

I have a 12G nano with about 10 or so SPS frags, a moon coral, a small Frogspwan and a couple mushrooms.

I also have a serpent star, peppermint shrimp, Emerald crab, a few snails and a Royal Grammas.
If I had it to do over again I probably would not have put the Royal Grammas in, and I may evential move him to a larger tank.

My lighting is different than yours though, I have a 175W Ushio 10K MH running on an Icecap ballast.

I think the Shrimp/goby combo is good for a nano. They are very entertaining and with a nano you are up close so you can see what is going on. Other than that I would have wall to wall shrooms and polyps. They are forgiving, colorful and easy to practice propagating...

Good luck.
