some stuff on my rock

I have recently noticed some small twig like branches growing out of my rock. They are purple in color and are branching out like thorns also I have some algae growing out of the same rock. I have seen this same type at a store and told it was called plastic algae. I wish I had a PIC to show you. I hope to get a hold of a camera soon. In any event any ideas??

It's prabobly a gergonia. That hitch hiked in.
Thats how i got mine just enjoy it. I love mine

I think it's more likely foraminiferans - forams for short.
