My stars tenticles seem to be faaling off. They are getting shorter and shorter. They almost look to be being eaten off yet I have watched my tank for hours at a time and cannot seem to find anyone attacking them.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this.

Thanks,
Dustin

1. They're 'arms', not 'tentacles'.

2. As another post said, we need lots more information...
-How big is your tank
-How long has it been set up
-When was the last time you checked water quality and what were the readings?
-What type of star is it?
-How was it acclimated?
-What tankmates does it have?
-How and what have you been feeding the star?

Some ideas off the top of my head...

If it's a brittle star, it might be due to lack of food. These guys benefit from direct feeding of chunks of squid, kryll, shrimp, etc. If it's a linckia, well it could be food related, it could be water quality related, it could be acclimation stress, etc.

Give us more info, and we can help more! :)
