Does anyone have this one, if so do you like it?

http://www.marinedepot.com/a_lt_mh_pfo_hqi.asp?CartId=

I'm wanting to attach it the original Oceanic hood that I have, the light fixture is only 4" thick, it would just fit leaving about 3" between the UV lens and the water, I'm guessing about 6" from the bulb itself to the water, is that too close?

also, $342.00 free shipping for the 250W is the best price I've found so far, anyone know of a better price?

I have 2 150's and they are great. I got them pretty much for the same reason you are talking about - I have a ceiling very close to the top of my tank - and they are about 3 inches for the top of the tank. No problems.

How big a tank are you talking? The light spread is pretty limited that close to the top of the tank.

it's a Oceanic 58 gal., I would combine it with the PFO 2x96 watt PC's that I have on order, it all would just fit, I may be just fine with the 150w HQI MH pendant, that would give me a total of 342W with less heat.

Righty, what are the dimensions of your tank? I've been thinking of getting these lights as well but was worried about spread. I have a 55 gallon tank. My other choice is the Aqualine Spacelight, but that hood makes the spread look tiny.

what ballasts do you run with these pendants?

I use two or the 250 models on my 150. They don't spread that well....

I bought the two pendants, two Ushio bulbs and dual PFO HQI ballast from PA for 624.00 shipped

My tank is 36" long and I would be unhappy with the coverage of just one of the 150's. Can't comment on the 250's but I think the spread would not be good enough either (Well, I guess I can comment :) ).
I was running a dual IC ballast, but recently switched to 2 seperate ballasts, one of the new IC's and a Reliable. They seem to be pretty much the same.

that's a good price for the 250's, did you buy the pendants, bulbs & ballast separately, who's PA, do you have a link?
