I have noticed in the past few months that a few days after changing out the calcium hydroxide in my reactor the stuff turns a blue\gray color and has pretty much stopped saturating the water.

Any thoughts on what's going on?

LOL, I did, but couldn't figure out why, unless of course your kalk powder has expired (I personally don't know if that if possible). Was your kalkwasser stored in a damp place?

Hi Mark,
I've nothing to offer other than to say that this has never happened to me. FWIW, I am one of the Rockefellers and I only use the boutique kalkwasser powder from ESV. Perhaps your supply has a contaminant?

Steve,
I too thought that might be it. This last time I used a fresh new bottle of ESV and it still turned gray.
