Question regarding Flatworms...

Hello, I recently noticed that we have a pretty large population of flatworms. I did a search and found some pretty interesting ways to get rid of them, but I wanted to first find out why they are harmful? What do they do to the tank that requires their removal? Thanks.

I don't know. From what I have seen on the forum so far, most people think they just look ugly and can get so bad that they cover entire rocks. I have some in my tank and they don't seem to harm anything. They have not gotten out of control though.
