Another Light question

Hey guys, this is a light question that i know has been on here alot, but bear with me:

I was looking at lighting for a 55/75 gal tank. I plan FOWLR, then a reef eventually. I plan for some metal halides down the line in a year when i start to purchase the good softies and what not...

I want to buy lights now, then spend the fortune later on halides. So based on their quality of lighting, it is better to purchase power compacts or VHO's if i were to buy one or the other right now?

matter of preference i think. i prefer vho's.

I'd say whichever you could get the better deal on. 110w VHO or 96w power compact.... really doesn't matter much.
