platapus, I just got mine from Frank Wilson ar Reef Concepts and I can tell you it looks awesome and Frank Wilson is the nicest guy in the industry IMHO. I purchased a 824 model for my 230 gallon with 80 gallon sump with heavy bio load. I haven't turned it on yet as I do not have the mag2400 I plan to run it with yet (on it's way from Premium Aquatics). I've had lots of trouble from the retailer I bought the Aerofoamer from and Frank Wilson from Reef Concepts took it upon himself to back up his products and help me with my dilemma. I would highly advise you get one and call Reef Concepts directly and speak to Frank Wilson. Also, there are tons of positive research on the web about Aerofoamers and now they come with an upgraded injector. I'll definately let you know how mine does as soon as I try it. I'm very confident it will do an excellent job. I have never heard anything bad about them on the web yet.

platapus yes I've read the article :D Your best bet is to stick with reefconcepts directly. http://www.reefconcepts.com I rather not say who the "bad" folks at the other store were. Reef Concepts doesn't even deal with them anymore. Call up and speak to James Wilson. He will answer any questions about the injector or anything else. In fact, he called me to make sure everything was ok! Great guy.

Yeah, they are a good skimmer for sure. May want to look at a Euro-reef too. Just as good(if not better considering it pulls the same amount of waste out using a fraction of the energy)as any beckett, being much more efficient doing the same job. If energy is a consideration may want to account for this.

I have an 830 on a 175 using a GRI 520. Skimmer works OK. Don't think much of the quality of the construction however. It is good that they redesigned the injector to make it easier to clean. I clean mine every 2 weeks or so. Small pieces of coralline, limpets or what ever make it through the pump accumulate in the injector and the skimmer doesn't seem to work as well.
