I ran out of the Oatley stuff I had and didn't feel like driving to the mall to go to Lowes or Home depot. So I went to a local place and got some stuff by PC- Plumbing. It is Plubing Epoxy Putty (2 part in a tube) and it doesn't mention metal filled on it and it does say it is NSF approved safe for potable water on it

The stuff I had before worked fine but last time I went to Lowes they only had the Oatley that said it was steel-filled which the older one I used to have didn't say that and if I remember right there are two differnt ones by them

Yes I believe you can use that plumbers epoxy. I bought some from Ace Hardware. I was told by the owner of my LFS that this is the same stuff as aquastick or any 2 part epoxy they sell for reef keeping. I haven't used it yet because a friend of mine snagged it up before I could use it. I don't think it can be toxic because it used used on pipes for drinking water.
