Temp Controllers: Medusa vs Aqualogic?

Hi there, I am shopping for a temperature controller, dual stage, to control heater and fans(or chiller eventually). I've looked at the Medusa and the aqualogic, and just looking for input on those who have used them. Of course if there is another brand, please let me know...

This company buys the base unit from Ranco and adds the two receptacle whips and waterproof temp probe, and slaps a sticker with their name on it.

I got it from Champion. (See previous post for link) and it was the best $159 I ever spent.

I purchased a Medusa Dual Stage Controller when I bought my chiller. I had a problem with the temp probe. I think it was miscalibrated at the factory to about 4-5 degrees higher than actual temperature. This caused my chiller to run every hour year round. I finally put a second thermometer in the tank discovered the problem and recalibrated the probe.

The controller has always kept the tank at a steady temp. I believe this drasticly reduced the stress on the inhabitants. Although if I was to buy another controller today I think I would look for one with season temp fluctuation. However if the price difference was much greater I would go with the lower price. It's not difficult to change the temp. settings at all.

Marco and Ernie, thanks for the links! It looks like the ranco is great, and with a 16 amp load, it blows the Medusa and Aqualogic out of the water...
