i keep seeing pics of incredible coloring on ricordias. i've had mine for 4mos now and it is a blah grey under mh lighting. however, under actinics is is fluorescent green and purple. it appears to be in good health, expanding to about 6" in diameter, nice full polyps, and i think starting to bud. it's positioned at one end of the tank (specs below) and recieves only indirect light from the mh bulb. is this why it is blah grey? thanks!!

Ricordea have different color morphs. You have the grey morph. :) To get other color morphs you'll have to seek out other hobbyists/LFS' that carry such morphs.

Nope, Ricordea don't color up like SPS when you give them more light. They've got the color that they're going to have and that's pretty much it. :) FWIW, my orange R.florida were bright orange anywhere I put it in my tank. Same for my blue, green, etc. If you want different colors you will need to purchase them.
