I have a 150, with a 180 sump, and current fish inhabitants incude:

1 Purple tang
1 Banggai
1 Yellow watchman goby
2 blue stripe pipefish
I will most likely be adding some banded pipefish as well.

Wahddya think?

I would get 2 more banggai and hoping one of them would pair up with the one you have in there. As soon as you see 2 paired up and is beating the crap out of the loner, take him back to the store.

I love pipefish. They are one of my favorite fish.

I would get a black neon goby too. They are useful for parasite prevention. They are also very hardy and takes flakes. The one's on the market may likely be tank raised as well.

I would add a Majestic Angel (feed him well and he won't bother your corals) and two of the choices followed: A Mandarin, a pair Orchid Dottyback, three Royal Gramma, Two Banggai Cardinals, A pair Ocellaris clowns, two Flame angels, two Marine Betta (small and they will pair up)
you can't go wrong with any of the above except the angels. The angels are so beautiful that you can risk it. Feed them well and they will not bother your corals. I have never have any problem with any of my angels. I know the we can be lucky sometime. Maybe you can be as lucky as I am.
Good luck

180 sump on a 150! Wow! Ditto on a clown pair, any kind along with a hardy host anemone would be cool. I've always wanted a six line wrasse or mandarin goby. Majestics are cool but I think Emperors are better looking and a little hardier. I always hear Majestics are really fragile but mine's done great for 14 months now.

Thanks guys!

What about schooling fish? Whatayall think about Chromis? I was thinking Anthias, but am worried about competition with the pipefish.

Also from what I have been reading, anemone's and pipefish can be a bad combo if you want to keep the pipefish! Any thoughts on this?

Hmmm...magestic angel, one of my faves from long ago...didn't even think of it...hmmm.

Did you get the fish yet or still looking? Let us know.

I would consider a fairy wrasse. I just put one in my display tank and he is beautiful, always swimming, and no one seems to really bother him much.

I have a Lamarck angel in quarentine as I try to fatten him up. They aren't all that common and neat-not the prettiest though.

Righty, depends on what kind of anemone. The super sticky carpet is a definet no no. But I have pipe with BTA, Condi, Sebae and ritteri. Not a big problem.

Also, placement of the anemone. If the anemone is placed right in the middle of a important pathway, or if the anemone are so congregated there is little room to swim through, then you may have problems. But otherwise, I find healthy well fed pipe knows how to steer around anemone pretty well.
