Tell me a little more about your tank. Size, lights, circulation, water params, etc. Also - do you feed your rose? If so, what and how often?

I've always heard BTAs are deep water species that need lower light. However every healthy rose I've seen that has been kept for long periods has been kept under MH or at the top of the tank under VHO's. I keep mine under 250W MH and it seems to do fine. It even moved itself to face the light when I first put it in the tank.

South Pacific, most are imported from Indonesia vicinity.

But, don't bother look for the wild one's. There are plenty of tank divided specimens going around. Search the previous posts of rose for sale, and pm the original posters, most likely you can get on the waiting list of next one to divide in their tank.

I've seen my fair share of E.quadricolors in shallow water, including "Rose" morphs.
