Hi,
I want some better lighting for my 29 gallon aquarium. It is just FoWLR. I was leaninf for about 65 to 100 watts. What is the cheapest way I could get these. I have heard of buying Lights of America shoplights for refugiums but will that work. Do you know any good websites where you could build a PC? Thanks

I have one of the LOA lights from Home depot on my 7 gal bofront. The light was $30, and another $5 for the extension cord to wire it up.

To build a PC setup with the same amount of light would have been Over $100.

Once I build my canopy, I may add an actinic for color, because the light is really yellow (6500k) compared to my 15 gal with a 10k and a 7100 blue.

Lady G,
I just set up the tank a month or so ago, I haven't tried any corals yet. The hair algea, cyano, and other algea have been growing REALLY well.
Hopefully this week I will have some time to build a canopy, and get the light a little higher above the water. Right now it is just sitting on a plexi lid I cut for it. I also got an inkling to build a mini refuge for it too. Hopefully that will curb some of the bad algea growth.
