When I install my fan should it be blowing air from the outside into/across the surface of the water or should it be blowing air from the surface of the water out the hole in the canopy and into my bedroom?

Simple question but I was wondering whih way I should direct the air! Thanks.

i've had a ton of success with one fan on each side of my canopy (L and R). one blowing in, and the opposite one blowing out! great circulation...

not sure what i would do if i only had one... i'm thinking blow in... but wait - blowing out seems to make sense too 8O

I have mine blowing out, pushing any warm air out... Keep in mind everything from you Cars radiator to your home ac unit to your PC run in like that. I would guess that that is the ideal way of doing it unless you have one introducing air and one pulling air out...

Gawd... in both posts, 1/2 the people say in, and half of them say out!

I'm going to leave mine blowing in. Don't know about the lifespan of the bulb going down if air is blowin on it though....

I have both my fans blowing air into the canopy and the canopy has an open back, somewhat, so a lot of the hot air escapes. Remember, what cools the tank is the air blowing across the top of the water causing evaporation. I get very different results when I point the fans along the water surface specifically as compared to just blowing into the air space in the canopy. Blowing in will also save you money on replaced fans. Sucking air from inside the canopy back out through the fan will really kill the fan in short order. There is no way to avoid getting a lot of salt corrosion on the fan parts. But in the end it is always what works best for each person. Try it both ways and see what kind of results you get.
