AKA A False Lemonpeel Angel. Anyone know anything about these, or anyone kept one? I am looking to buy one for my 28 gallon, from what I have read they are a little bit nippy to some corals, but it didn't elaborate. I will be keeping mostly soft corals and already have an oscellaris in the tank. The grow to about 3-4 inches I think, but if anyone has any experience or additional info about them, that would be great. From what I can tell they will eat macro algae and possibly prepared food. Thanks for any help,
Gaber

Gabe3eb: Centropyge heraldi certainly can be maintained in a 28. Scott Michael recommends a 20 gallon as minimum. I have not maintained this species in particular, but I do have experience with several species of Centropyge and Chaetodontoplus in reef systems.
In general, the smaller the system, the more an angelfish "picks" at a particular coral- the fish will do great, but you will wonder why your coral {or corals} are not faring well...
In larger systems the harrassment by the fish is distributed by sheer number and distance of the corals, but can still lead to a particular favored corals' death.
In short- be prepared to sacrifice a coral or two if the fish decides it enjoys it's "flavor".

Thanks a lot Gary, appreciate the response. What types of corals can I anticipate this puppy having a taste for? I heard that it liked LPS, zooanthids, and other soft polyps... But I have a toastool that I really really like and I would hate to think that this thing would bother him. Would other types of Gorgonians, Shrooms, Carnation/Colt be potential snacks do you think? Anyone? Thanks a lot,
Gaber
p.s. do you know anything about their diet? As in prepared foods? I know macro algae(but which species), which I do have, is most likely a candidate... Thanks

Hi Gabe, my centropyge (Potter's) eats well on Nori sheets, in fact it took me a while to get it to eat anything else. It will now eat OSI flakes (the green ones) and picks at frozen formula II and brine shrimp.

He does not bother any of my corals, but I don't have any of the softies you mention.
